The temporary exhibition, “The day of the Great Battle and the “Square of Villafranca” of June 24, 1866″, can be visited at Palazzo Bottagisio, in Villafranca di Verona, until April 30, 2019.

This exposure completes the historical journey around the military campaign of 1866 that unites Custoza to Villafranca.




  • The Ossuary joined the 2016, 2017, 2018 editions of the “European Heritage Days” and the national event “Family at the Museum”
  • Every year at the Ossuary there are celebrations for the anniversary both of the battle (June 24, 1866) and the inauguration of the monument (June 24, 1879). The monumental site become the center of events and disclosure lectures made by historians of national and international relevance.
  • On 2018 the Ossuary organized extend openings during Custoza Doc Wine Festival (Have you ever visited the Ossuary in the evening?) and for the astronomical observation activity made in collaboration with the Circolo Astrofili Veronesi (Stars and Stories at the Ossuary). Special guided tours were also conducted during the “Fai Spring Days”(Nobles at Custoza), for the 170th anniversary of 1848 (’48 Happened! Sommacampagna and the First Independence War of Italy) and concurrently to the temporary exhibition, hosted at the former Caretaker’s house (Italy, tricolor.).
